The Festival’s highly anticipated vocal competitions continue this evening, featuring the adult solo classes. Among the highlights of the event are three prestigious awards that celebrate excellence in vocal performance.

The historic Kathleen Ferrier Trophy, awarded for outstanding contralto solos, remains a centrepiece of the competition, honouring the legacy of one of Britain’s most celebrated singers. The Miss J.M. Dalgleish Award will be presented for excellence in opera solos, while the Alastair Hodge Memorial Trophy will recognize outstanding performances in oratorio.

This evening’s competitions will be adjudicated by the esteemed Mr Graham Dickie, whose expertise in vocal performance will guide the selection of this year’s winners. Accompanying the competitors on piano is the highly accomplished Mr Howard Duthie, ensuring a night of exceptional musicality.
