Tonight, Perform in Perth moves to St John’s Academy for the start of an exciting series of dance competitions! 🩰💃

In recent years, Julie Young Dance Studios has provided all the talented dancers for this event, stepping in where traditional dance teachers are absent in schools and the community. But there’s plenty of opportunity for schools, youth groups, and community organisations to get involved in future festivals!

Julie Young has set a high barre – high, but achievable! 💫

This evening, dancers will compete for the prestigious Miss Helen Farquhar Award, presented to the most outstanding young team from the first three classes, as judged by our adjudicator. Miss Farquhar was a highly respected dance teacher in the city, and this award honours her legacy.

The evening will conclude with a stunning performance of Lochanside, with our adjudicator providing context and reflections on this beautiful dance.
